TTR provides expert guidance and support to local authorities and private sector organisations bidding for grant funding. TTR can help identify sources of funding, create the right consortium, prepare and submit funding applications.

Project Title South Yorkshire Eco-Stars (2008-11) |
TTR develops the annual business plan for the fleet environmental recognition scheme Eco-Stars which is operated by South Yorkshire Local Transport Plan Partnership with Barnsley MBC as the lead partner. Financial support to back the business strategy was gained from LTP funding and DEFRA Air Quality grants. |

Project Title Peel MSC Barge Waterbourne Freight Grant Application (2009) |
TTR prepared and submitted a successful application on behalf of Peel for DfT's Waterborne Freight Grant (WFG) relating to the Peel Manchester Ship Canal Freight Barge. This work involved a detailed review of the costs and revenue relating to the service and the development of a full feasibility study and business plan submitted as the application for DfT WFG. |

Project Title South London Freight Quality Partnership (2005-10) |
Croydon Council asked TTR to prepare a project plan for the development and implementation of a freight quality partnership (FQP) covering the London Air Quality Network's South London Cluster Group (Boroughs of Croydon, Merton, Bromley, Sutton, Lewisham and Wandsworth). The plan defined the scope of the South London FQP and provided a detailed plan for its implementation, including the measures that could be implemented, timescales, costings, possible locations for some of the trials and an introduction to the evaluation that will be required by TfL as the FQP develops. On the basis of the plan TfL released funding from LIP and freight budgets to the Boroughs for the FQP. |

Project Title Nottingham Kickstart Bid (2005) |
TTR was commissioned by Nottingham City Council to prepare a Kickstart bid to improve public transport access to Nottingham University and Queens Medical Centre from deprived wards of the city. The proposals aimed to integrate bus services operated on behalf of the University with other services in the city. TTR consulted with all the relevant stakeholders identified by the client including the bus operator to develop a bid for funding from DfT for the next 3 years. |

Project Title NEMA Kickstart Bid (2005) |
TTR was commissioned by Leicestershire County Council on behalf of the Nottingham East Midlands Airport (NEMA) Transport Sub-Group to prepare a Kickstart bid to improve public transport access to the airport. The bid included improvements to the bus service between Derby and Loughborough via NEMA, the Skylink service between Nottingham and NEMA, plus a new bus service between Leicester and NEMA. Improvements included increasing the hours of operation, improving information and introducing new low-floor, fully accessible vehicles. TTR consulted with all the relevant local authorities as well as the bus operators to develop a plausible bid for funding for the next 3 years. The bid was submitted with support from all relevant authorities. |

Project Title TRAILBLAZER (2009) |
TTR developed the TRAILBLAZER project (Transport and Innovation Logistics by Local Authorities with a Zest for Efficiency and Realisation) and assembled a pan-European consortium. TRAILBLAZER will achieve a reduction in energy used in urban freight transport through public sector policy interventions across Europe by showcasing good practices and promoting Delivery and Servicing Plans (DSPs). Sutton Council are one of the consortium partners. |

Project Title CIVITAS- ARCHIMEDES bid and negotiations (2007-8) |
TTR provided support to a consortium led by the city of Aalborg with the preparation and submission of a proposal for the demonstration of clean and efficient transport in European cities. TTR assembled the consortium of 16 partners, led the bid-writing and budgeting process, and supported the negotiations with the European Commission when the bid was successful |

Project Title CIVITAS- SUCCESS (2005) |
TTR supported Lancashire County Council and La Rochelle in the preparation of the proposal for the project. SUCCESS was one of four CIVITAS II demonstration projects supported by the EC. The project involved a wide range of activities including clean vehicles, soft measures, ITS, demand management, personalised travel plans etc. |

Project Title CIVITAS- SMILE (2005) |
TTR helped Norfolk CC bid for the SMILE project, another of the CIVITAS II demonstration projects funded by European Commission Directorate General for Energy and Transport. The aim of the project was to improve urban air quality by demonstrating innovative measures centred around a sustainable, safe and flexible transport system in the partner cities of Malmo , Norwich , Suceava, Potenza and Tallinn . |

Project Title ADDH (2005) |
TTR was commissioned by the Academy of Human and Sustainable Development, created in 2003, to research all European programmes likely to finance the development of eLearning modules for sustainable development. TTR selected nine programmes likely to fund such a project, prepared a report detailing all funding opportunities and advice for bidding, and subsequently helped the client to submit a successful bid to the Leonardo Programme. |

Project Title Lille Biofuels (2004-5) |
TTR, working in partnership with Heich Consult, supported Lille Urban Community to submit a proposal for an Integrated Project on alternative motor fuels (biogas) to the 3rd Call of the EC Energy Programme. The project was focused on production, distribution and use (in vehicles) of biogas produced from renewable urban waste sources. TTR helped set up a network of partners for the project, managed meetings and proposal development, performed cost calculations which formed the final EC bid. The bid was subsequently evaluated and recommended for funding. TTR again supported the client by assisting with contract negotiations and re-drafting and adjusting the project description to form part of the final contract. |
